University of Nairobi’s Department of Architecture is collaborating with two academic partners:

Respiratory Health, Outdoor Air Pollution and Solid Waste Management: A Built Environment Perspective (RESPIRA-ABEP) Workshop

The University of Nairobi’s Department of Architecture is conducting a Workshop at the University of
Nairobi on Monday 25th November to 29th November 2024. The Workshop is for a Research
Project titled: Respiratory Health, Outdoor Air Pollution and Solid Waste Management: A Built
Environment Perspective (RESPIRA-ABEP).

Wednesday Afternoon Seminar: Chris Campbell Clause

On the Wednesday, 25th September 2024. The Department hosted Chris Campbell Clause, An Appropriate Construction Technology Expert.

Mr. Chris Campbell Clause has worked with rammed earth technology since building his first home using the Finniemore process on the shores of Lake Naivasha in 1980.

Subsequently he designed and built several eco lodges and private homes throughout Kenya and Tanzania.

He has also manufactured Interlocking Stabilized Soil Blocks (I.S.S.B.) using Hydraform and Makiga manual press machines.
