This week, the Department of Architecture is hosting Triad Architect’s managing director, Architect James Gitoho, on Wednesday 24th April 2024, from 2pm - 4pm.
A prominent figure in the Architectural space, Arch. Gitoho joined TRIAD Architects in October 1981 after graduating from the University of Nairobi earlier that year. Within seven years, he had risen through the ranks to become a Director at TRIAD by 1988.
Over the past 40 years, Arch. Gitoho has worked on various commercial developments that include the 30 storey UAP Tower, 22 storey 4th Avenue Tower, CFC Headquarters building, Deloitte’s Head office and Barclays Plaza amongst others.
One of longest serving career Architects in Kenya, he has a wealth of knowledge from years of practice and continuous effort. In 1991 Arch. Gitoho was awarded the prestigious commonwealth scholarship that enabled him to travel to England for two weeks attachment at the Commonwealth headquarters culminating in a luncheon at Buckingham Palace with the Queen. This was followed by a two week tour of Tonga, West Samoa, and the South Pacific to promote commonwealth understanding.
Arch. Gitoho has been conferred a fellow of the Architectural Association of Kenya (AAK) in addition to serving in the Board of Registration of Architects and Quantity Surveyors of Kenya (BORAQS).
