The Department of Architecture & Building Science is the Leading Centre of Professional Training in Architecture in East and Central Africa. Our mission is to train high caliber professionals in the discipline of Architecture through teaching, research and consultancy.
Founded in 1956, the Department of Architecture was at first the only Department of the Faculty of Architecture, which later became the Faculty of Art and Architecture of the Royal Technical College of East Africa.
