Italian Design Day Seminar

Today (10/3/2023) the Department of Architecture in collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institute will host an in-presence Seminar on the occasion of the Italian Design Day (IDD) from 11.00am. The venue will be ADD 6th Year Studio. The theme will be “The quality that illuminates. The energy of design for people and the environment”. 

 

Arch. Marco Carolei from Avanti Architecture Ltd will deliver a lecture on “Light in Architecture”. Other guest speakers will be Dr. Elena Gallenca the Director, Italian Cultural Institute and Prof. Fabio Santoni the Scientific Attaché Embassy of Italy. Arch. Musau Kimeu and Arch. Mumbi Maina from the Department of Architecture, University of Nairobi will also deliver a lecture.

IDD is promoted and organized annually by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation as part of the BeIT and Vivere all’Italiana (The Italian Way of Life) initiatives and by the Ministero della Cultura, thanks to the contribution from Direzione Generale Creatività Contemporanea, in sinergy with Fondazione ADI Collezione Compasso d’Oro, ADI Associazione per il Disegno Industriale, ITA ICE Italian Trade Agency, Triennale di Milano, Salone del Mobile Milano, FederlegnoArredo, Altagamma.

The Italian Design Day is the initiative through which the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation aims to foster abroad the Italian experience in design and architecture fields.
