The final day of the workshop began in earnest, with the presentation on “Integration of
nature-based infrastructure in design of energy efficient Hospitals” setting off a lively
discussion on green design in Architectural practice.

This week, the Department of Architecture at the University of Nairobi officially opened the
11th edition of the long-awaited East Africa Architecture Workshop and Exhibition.

In recognition of our students’ accomplishments in Academia, The Dura Coat Academic
Awards of Excellence took place on the 27 th of August 2024, at the ADD Studios;
Department of Architecture, University of Nairobi. This ceremony celebrates the Academic
excellence of the top performing students in each of the departments across the faculties of
Built Environment and Design, and that of Engineering. Awardees were drawn from the
graduating classes, across the departments of Architecture, Design, Real Estate and Quantity
