The University of Nairobi’s Department of Architecture is conducting a Workshop at the University of
Nairobi on Monday 25th November to 29th November 2024. The Workshop is for a Research
Project titled: Respiratory Health, Outdoor Air Pollution and Solid Waste Management: A Built
Environment Perspective (RESPIRA-ABEP).

The goal of this Workshop is to exchange knowledge regarding the impact of solid waste management
on outdoor air pollution and respiratory health: from the perspective of the built environment.
Additionally, the Workshop aims to come up with relevant research questions that may inspire future
action.

The team will visit Dandora dumpsite on Tuesday 26th November 2024 as part of the Workshop’s Morning session. The visit would enable the Workshop participants to obtain an understanding regarding challenges related to solid waste disposal and the city’s waste management strategies.
