Fourth year Students from the Department made an academic trip to the Kenyan Coast from 9th to 16th February 2020.

Led by the Chairman of Department and other 4th Year class studio staff, the students undertook fieldwork for one week in Old town, Mombasa and while in Mombasa, they toured Fort Jesus, the South Coast namely Ukunda, Diani and Tiwi and the historical Gede Ruins near Malindi town North of Mombasa.

Old Town, Mombasa which covers an area of 72 hectares is home to the Swahili people and its Buildings belong to the traditional Swahili architecture which was the focus of the field study.

The ruins of Gede are a historical and archaeological site.
