THE BUILT ENVIRONMENT RESOURCE CENTRE LANDSCAPING DESIGN, KARIUKI F.K

The landscaping project is a continuation of the Built Environment Resource Centre

(BERC) completed

project. University of Nairobi has engaged your

services to undertake landscaping design of the BERC

site. You will be required to consider the external spaces,

peripheralof the designed BERC buildings and

their proper levelling. You are expected to design outdoor spaces for recreation, learning, parking and

vehicular/pedestrian movements. This project is expected to re

spond to the site context

which includes the vegetation, views, topography and the existing neighbo

urhood. The landscaping work should add to the quality and experiences of the overall project.

Objectives:

This assignment is to demonstrate the understanding of landscaping elements used in defining outdoor

spaces for vehicular/pedestrian movement, learning and recreation. The landscaping design should demonstrate principles of site planning and functionality; response

to the character of the designed BERC project (1stProject) and existing neighbourhood.
