PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Al - Madrasa Institute is a society
whose core emphasis is on Islamic studies
and Arabic literacy. It is the single most
important factor in the preservation and
continuation of the Islamic faith and
culture.
b) CLIENT
The client for this project is the Kenya Arab Friendship
Society (KAFS). A Kenyan society founded in 1977 to promote
Islam as well as a vehicle of cementing the deep foundation of friendly
co-operation between the Arabic countries and Kenya. The society is
a cultural, voluntary, charitable and non political association run by an
Executive committee. The society is responsible for a number of key
projects in the country notably the proposed King Fahd cultural center
- Hurlingham (Nairobi) where the royal kingdom of Saudi Arabia
contributed an immense amount of capital to finance the projecT

SCHEDULE OF ACCOMODATION
Al - Madrasa Institute is designed to accomodate a student population
of 700 Persons. The institute features a master plan which
incorporates a number of building types and space types to meet the
needs of students, teachers, staff and community. They include:

The master plan was developed by analyzing institutional potential,
long term vision and identifying strategies and actions needed to realize
this vision. It is divided into two phases, the first phase includes the
development of the Al - Madrasa Mosque while the second phase
involves the development of the Madrasa (School)
